Abstract

Zipline is a global leader in using drones to deliver medical supplies to underserved regions, improving access to essential healthcare. While its model shows great promise, operating across different countries, especially in emerging economies, raises important ethical and practical challenges. This study addresses these challenges to explore how drone-enabled healthcare delivery can be made both fair and sustainable. Using a qualitative methodology based on a case study approach, this study illustrates how Zipline can refine its strategy to broaden healthcare access while balancing ethical imperatives with practical constraints. The findings provide insights for organizations seeking to use technology for social good.
