Abstract
Jennifer A. Doudna, a distinguished scientist in biochemistry and genetics, has made groundbreaking contributions to gene editing through her pioneering work on Clustered Regularly Interspaced Short Palindromic Repeats (CRISPR) and other fundamental research. This scientometric study analyzed 403 research papers by Prof. Jennifer A. Doudna indexed in the Web of Science (WoS) citation database, examining her scientific productivity, domain-wise distribution, authorship patterns, publication channels, and citation impact. Prof. Doudna has published 199 papers (49.4%) in biochemistry, molecular biology, and cell biology, which show the highest collaboration rate (CC = 0.812). Single-author publications account for 8.19% (33 papers), while collaborative publications account for 91.41% (370 papers). Collaborative publications have significantly higher citation counts than single-author work, with the highest impact in high-impact journals like Science (33 papers, 18,921 citations) and Nature (25 papers, 7,103 citations). Her author-level metrics include an H-index of 111, G-index of 140, and an I-10 index of 273, highlighting her substantial influence on scientific research. This study demonstrates the vital role of international collaboration and high-impact publishing in advancing groundbreaking research in molecular biology and biotechnology.
