Abstract

The widespread adoption of IoT is revolutionizing global cities, striving to optimize the development of sustainable smart cities through IoT integration into urban infrastructure. Various research methods, including quantitative analysis and semi-structured interviews, underscore IoT’s role in optimizing energy conservation, traffic management, and cost savings. Challenges like privacy infringement necessitate consistent regulation and inclusive urban planning for effective optimization. A strategic framework for IoT adoption emphasizes wide engagement and stringent regulation. Collaboration among citizens, technologists, and urban planners is crucial for optimizing the safe, secure, and advantageous development of smart cities. Careful planning and cross-sector cooperation are essential to fully optimize the potential of smart urban environments.
