Abstract

Blockchain technology is creating significant interest among a wide range of industries in the world due to the continuing applications in the banking sector. Thus, the aim of this research is to introduce an outline for examining critical factors that affect the success of the adoption of Blockchain-technologies in the sector of Finance and arranges them using the fuzzy analytical hierarchy process technique. First, it identifies thirteen critical success factors under three categories: technological, organizational, and environmental, taking the assistance of the extensive literature review and expert-opinion. Then, these factors are given a ranking that is based on their relative weightage. It is concluded that top management attitude, organization readiness, government regulation, immutability, and disintermediation are the detrimental factors for widespread blockchain adoption. The findings of this study will empower the stakeholders in the financial sector to improve their performance using blockchain technologies.
