Investigation of ERP application based on technology acceptance model in Vietnam

Abstract

In the era of Industry 4.0, Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) is regarded as the most powerful tool, remaining at the top of the automation pyramid because it integrates data from all business areas within the organization. A survey was used in this study to investigate the effects of technology acceptance on end user satisfaction—a case study of an ERP application in Vietnam. A sample of 175 end-users (no discrimination based on nationality) working in many companies in Vietnam that use ERP in daily tasks was chosen for the study using a combination of convenience sampling and snowball sampling. SEM (Structural equation modeling) was used to analyze data from 175 ERP end users. The findings provide empirical evidence for the relationship between selected determinants and end-user satisfaction as measured by perceived ease of use and perceived usefulness. More importantly, this research provided principals and top managers with a better understanding of the importance of professional interaction between end-users and vendors/consultants (service quality), training, and its effects on end-user attitudes, which leads to overall activity improvement.
