Abstract

Accounting information system is a mechanism that use the system, internal controls, and security measures to gather, record, store, and convert data into information so that management may make the best decisions possible, resulting in a rise in the organization’s profitability. This research aims to find out the challenges encountered during the usage of AIS & how the Accounting Information System (AIS) affects the profitability of selected Indian insurance companies. The Accounting information system measures based on five variables via efficiency, reliability, ease of use, data quality, and accuracy. Using a questionnaire method, data were obtained from 400 respondents. Using a purposive sampling technique of non-probability sampling, the data were then analyzed by rank analysis and the step wise regression method. The regression results show that the AIS variables (reliability, accuracy, ease of use) have a considerable impact on profitability. AIS efficiency and data quality, on the other hand, do not influence the profitability of insurance companies.
