      <abstract>
        <p>The study endeavoured to investigate the job design’s influence on institutional support and work-life equilibrium of female teachers in Chennai. The female teachers serving in higher educational institutions were identified for selection of sample. The study was commenced with 973 samples. Purposive sampling technique was used for selection of samples. The study considered the variables like personality, job atmosphere, commitment, institutional support, job design and work life balance of women teachers. Statistical tools like structural equation modelling, One-way Anova and post-hoc tests were performed with relevant hypotheses. Results showed that personality, job atmosphere, and commitment had positive and significant effect on institutional support. Institutional support had affirmative and noteworthy impact on work-life equilibrium of women teachers. Job design had significant partial mediation towards institutional support and work-life equilibrium.</p>
