This study analyzes the top 100 highly cited articles published in the Academy of Management Journal during the period 1985–2013, integrating bibliometric and altmetric indicators to reveal patterns of scholarly impact and research visibility. Leveraging data sourced from the comprehensive Web of Science database, a sophisticated array of analytical tools including Biblioshiny and HistCite were meticulously employed. Noteworthy findings unveil the heightened significance attributed to single-authored papers over their multi-authored counterparts, with a particular emphasis on the domain of Human Resource Management. Furthermore, a compelling negative correlation emerges between citation frequency and the number of authors involved. In addition, an insightful exploration into the social media landscape reveals blogs as the predominant platform, closely trailed by Policies. This seminal research offers profound insights into the nuanced dynamics of highly cited Management Literature, encompassing an intricate comprehension of scholarly communication trends and the changing impact landscape.
