      <abstract>
        <p>This study provides a bibliometric overview of Artificial Intelligence (AI) research in medical science across South Asia from 2015 to 2024. The analysis reveals a significant growth in research output, reflecting increasing regional engagement with AI technologies in healthcare. While the number of publications has risen sharply, the citation impact has varied, suggesting a gap between research quantity and scholarly influence. International collaborations emerged as a key factor in enhancing visibility and impact, particularly with partners from the United Kingdom, the United States, and Saudi Arabia. Review articles and contributions from select institutions demonstrated higher citation performance. Despite India’s dominance in output, contributions from other South Asian countries are gaining momentum. The findings highlight the growing prominence of AI in regional medical research and underscore the importance of quality, collaboration, and interdisciplinary focus to enhance global visibility and impact.</p>
